Personal illustrations

You can have a personal illustration made. For example, a personal illustration of a loved one, your family or as a gift for a newlyweds. You can also have a personal illustration made as a farewell gift for someone who is retiring or as a gift for a jubilee.

A lot is possible with personal illustrations. Think of the style: Black and white or with color, detailed or just a line drawing. And do you already have a format in mind? I can also advise you on this (also in terms of list).

Personal illustration: based on photos and memories.

A couple met each other on this characteristic 100-year-old houseboat. Because they were moving to another boat, the couple's friend wanted to give her boyfriend a drawing as a surprise. A memory of the houseboat where they made beautiful memories. The coots were also not to be missed. The personal drawing includes the couple, the houseboat and all kinds of small details. I drew this based on photos.

Illustration: Fiene in Paris

I made this personal illustration for Fiene. She was 13 years old and really wanted a portrait of herself in the style of Chanel.

She also wanted her hamster, a shell chair and two Chanel bottles to be drawn. Because she loves Paris so much, I drew the city in the background. Like a window into the future, in which she still has a whole life ahead of her.

Shereen's parents asked me as a surprise to draw their daughter's life up to the present. As a gift for her 25th birthday. They have lived in many places. I incorporated these memories into the drawing.

In the illustration I have also incorporated the colors from the Surinamese flag (Shereen was born in Suriname) into the drawing. Just like many plants from Suriname and its birthplace.

I also incorporated children's photos and many details into the drawing. Such as airplane stamps, small cans of Fernandes in the children's bicycle or a jar with memories of playing in the neighborhood.

She provided many photos, places, moments for this illustration and I was given complete freedom to incorporate this into an illustration. Shereen was very happy with her personal drawing.

A family with 3 children was getting married and the sister gave this drawing as a gift for their wedding. The illustration incorporates the family and elements of their hometown of Rotterdam with the theme 'joie de vivre'. In the video you can see how such an illustration is created.

A couple is moving and the friend wants to give her boyfriend a drawing of their previous living room, with lush plants and a beautiful roof terrace and of course their sweet dog. They had a great time together in this house and as they are moving they wanted to keep this nice feeling as a memory for both of them. The drawing contains all kinds of memories and elements.

I made this illustration for a mother and a daughter. The daughter was going to emigrate and she wanted to have a personal drawing made for the mother of all her beautiful memories in life that they have together.

She supplied many photos, places, moments for this illustration and I was given the freedom to process this in an illustration for both. The mother received the original drawing and the daughter a high-quality print of the illustration (A2 format) which she took to her new destination.

personal illustration: family

This mother wanted a portrait of her and her two daughters. They cherish the moments together on the couch. Their two cats, the specific plants, a designer bag and cups of tea should not be missing. I also drew each family member in their favorite piece of clothing.

I framed the portrait upon request.

I made this illustration for 6-year-old Julie. Some time ago, her parents asked me to make a large drawing for Julie of the things she enjoys most in her life right now. She could think of everything herself. A time document for later. Julie drives a Ferrari, accompanied by her beloved dog, a horse and padel rackets. This illustration also shows her two cats, her favorite attraction 'Hollywood Tower Hotel' at Disneyland Paris and a roller coaster. She was so very happy when she got the drawing and it now hangs above her bed. This illustration is (91 x 61.5 cm) in landscape format.

I made this illustration for Debbie in Canada. She told me her story about her childhood and especially that she liked to read detective books, together with her dog in the plum tree. This tree was in their garden and the memory was so special to her. Now she can always go back to the plum tree.

Personal illustration: based on a place of holiday

It is also possible to have an illustration made of yourself (or with family/friends) in a special place. Below is an example of our road trip to Western America last summer. In this case the drawing was there before the photo. Because I made this drawing before we went on holiday. We looked up this place in San Francisco.

If you have an illustration made about a specific place or holiday destination, anything is possible. Memories can be incorporated into the drawings, so that you have the entire memory in one drawing.
